At Healthy Family Project, we believe healthy eating should be practical for everyday families — not perfect, not complicated, and not another item on an endless to-do list.
That’s why Mission for Nutrition remains a core part of our work. This all-digital, dietitian-supported wellness campaign offers simple, realistic ways to add more fruits, vegetables, and better-for-you foods into family meals and snacks.
This year’s campaign brings together trusted brands, registered dietitians, and retail dietitians across North America to help families make small, manageable changes that build healthier habits year-round.
What Is Mission for Nutrition?
Mission for Nutrition is Healthy Family Project’s annual digital wellness campaign designed to make healthy eating approachable and achievable for families.
Through easy-to-use digital resources, family-friendly recipes, practical dietitian tips, and retailer support, the campaign helps parents and caregivers find straightforward ways to make nutritious choices without overcomplicating mealtime.
Most families aren’t looking for elaborate, multi-step meals on a weeknight — they need quick wins, simple swaps, and snacks and meals that kids will actually eat. Mission for Nutrition meets families where they are and offers realistic solutions that fit daily life.
Dietitian-Backed Support for Families
This year’s campaign features practical guidance from registered dietitians Tony Castillo, RD, and Julie Lopez, RD. They bring real-life nutrition strategies families can use right away.
Their focus is on building balanced meals, making produce more appealing, and creating routines that work in busy households. From snack ideas to mealtime shortcuts, the guidance is designed to make nutrition less overwhelming and more doable.
Brands Helping Families Make Healthier Choices

Mission for Nutrition is supported by partners committed to helping families eat well. This year’s participating sponsors include:
- National Honey Board
- ¡Yo Quiero!
- Northwest Cherries
- USA Pears
- Shuman Farms (RealSweet)
Each partner contributes unique, family-friendly ingredients and ideas — from naturally sweet additions to fresh produce and convenient snack options families can use throughout the year. These sponsors also support the Foundation for Fresh Produce K–12 initiatives to strengthen nutrition education in schools.
Reaching Retail Dietitians Across North America
A key strength of Mission for Nutrition is the support it provides retail dietitians. Campaign materials are shared with more than 400 retail dietitians across 50 retailers in the United States and Canada, giving them ready-to-use resources to share with shoppers, families, and their communities.

These resources help dietitians extend the campaign’s healthy-eating messages beyond the grocery aisle and into homes, schools, and everyday family routines. The campaign also reaches more than 100 school nutrition directors, helping bring produce-forward ideas to children and families in multiple community settings.

A Seasonal Digital Cookbook for Real-Life Meals
As part of the campaign, Healthy Family Project produces a seasonal digital cookbook that showcases participating sponsors and offers family-friendly recipes.
The cookbook provides simple ideas families can return to again and again — for quick breakfasts, after-school snacks, or easy dinners. Recipes use familiar ingredients, making it easy to try new combinations without starting from scratch.

Why This Campaign Matters
Healthy habits form in small, everyday moments: adding fruit to breakfast, keeping easy snacks on hand, letting kids help pack their lunch, or choosing a veggie-packed side at dinner. Over time, those small choices add up.
Mission for Nutrition shows families that healthy eating doesn’t have to be all or nothing. It can be flexible, realistic, and even enjoyable. When brands, dietitians, retailers, and community partners work together, those positive messages reach more families in meaningful ways.
